based studio in 2009, priding themselves
on a high degree of flexibility and efficiency.
The studio has worked on education,
commercial and residential projects,
including their crystal-shaped E20 house
(pictured) in Pliezhausen, Germany,
with each project focusing on structural
clarity and material integration.

STUDIO DE MATERIA
Poland
The completed works of Adam Wysocki’s
Studio de Materia, founded in Poznań
in 2013, include local project House JRv2
(pictured), a timber and concrete box
partly submerged into a sloping site set
in leafy parkland. The plan is responsive
to the topography of the landscape,
and the result is clean, neat and modern.

Sweden
Ylva der Hagopian and Daniel Hedner’s
Gothenburg-based studio Maka strives
for ‘clarity, elegance and modesty’ within
projects across architecture and product
design. Founded in 2014, the studio’s first
built project is a single-storey weekend
summer house (pictured) consisting of a
complex of interlinking boxes based around
an open courtyard in Skåne, Sweden.
