Start searching
Tap on ‘Search’ and enter the name of the
band or artist. When the results are returned,
often the act’s Artist entry will be amongst the
top results. Tap on this option to see more.

Explore the artist
The Artist entry has a selection of material
from that act’s portfolio, including a Featured
Playlist. Scroll down for more playlists, live
albums, compilations and singles and EPs.

Access shuffle options
In iOS 12, to shuffle and repeat songs you
swiped up from the song. Now you tap on the
song to make it full screen, then tap on ‘Up
Next’ to see the Shuffle and Repeat icons.

View live lyrics
When the track is displayed full-screen,
tap on the ‘”’ icon at the bottom to display the
lyrics to the current track. These will scroll in
time with the music – perfect for karaoke!

Re-arrange order
While on this screen, scroll down to the
Up Next list of songs and you can change the
running order. Just press and hold on the list
icon next to a track and drag.

Listen to radio
The Radio section can stream a lot of
live stations via services such as TuneIn. The
quickest way to access radio stations though is
via Siri. Just say, “Hey Siri, play [station]”.

Customise share sheet
Select a song and tap on the ‘...’ icon to
reveal an extensive menu of options. Scroll to
the bottom and tap on ‘Edit Actions...’ to edit
your share sheet to suit your needs.

Dark mode
Like all native iOS apps, Music works in
Dark Mode, which you can trigger easily at any
time by adding it to your Control Centre. The
darker menus certainly improve the aesthetics.
