Make sure to keep the outside part of the
mask, we want to protect the background,
and add colour to the images, which is the opposite to usual

Simply make
1 Follow the basic steps
from the advanced step-
by-step guide on page
54, this time creating
the negative mask for
the three pod owers.
2 Once you’ve removed
the mask, add a little
extra ink blending
around the stamen area
of two of the owers.
There might be a harsh
line there from the
mask, so this will soften
it a bit.
3 Use one of the Mixed
Media dies to cut detail
into the black card
panel, this will help the
card look lighter, as the
white card blank will
show through.
4 Add a stamped
sentiment and white
gel pen details; you can
even colour the stems
with a gold gel pen too.
this will give you an oxidised
pattern that’s the negative of
the stencil design.
2 Once dry, trim the panel into
three separate pieces that
are slightly wider than the
stamps you’re using, and
keeping the ombré of colour.
3 Heat-emboss the images
using silver embossing
powder onto the three inked
panels. Then add extra
details with black and
white pens.
4 Finish the card with a
stamped sentiment and
Gloss Simply White Nuvo
Drops to add extra interest.
