GET LOW AND TAKE THE SHOT

3

The best photos are rarely taken at head-height. Take on
a new perspective by crouching down or laying prone on
the ground to a get a lower angle. Bring a bin-liner you can
place on the ground so you don’t get your clothes muddy!

DAN’S THREE TOP TIPS FOR
BETTER WILDLIFE PHOTOS

IMPROVE EVERY YEAR
It’s worth going out to shoot
deer every year in autumn
and winter. There’s no
better feeling than seeing
the progress you’ve made
when you look at old pics.

UNDERSTAND YOUR KIT
Use your camera regularly
so you know it inside out.
This will really help you
get the shot when split-
second timing is essential.

GET THE RIGHT MOMENT
Rather than rattling off
shots, wait until your subject
is doing something. With
deer, this could be barking,
exhaling a breath on a frosty
morning or being in the
middle of a rut.
