ADD MOVEMENT WITH A SLOW SHUTTER

You don’t always have to freeze the moment with a fast

shutter speed to get great wildlife images. Fast-moving

subjects like birds can look very striking if you go into your

camera’s Shutter Priority mode and dial in a slower shutter

speed, such as 1/10 sec. This should be long enough to

capture a little bit of motion in their wings.

USE GRASS TO ADD A COLOUR WASH

An easy way to add a splash of colour to your wildlife

shots is to get down low and lay prone on the ground,

then shoot through the grass, or foliage, to inject a wash

of colour in the bottom half of the frame. Wide apertures

such as f/2.8, or f/4 will help you blur the grass to create

a pleasing green gradient.
