EVERY TIME YOU log in
to a website or app using
Facebook or Google, the two
tech giants collect data about
you. While you can use a custom login
instead (often using an email address),
there’s an alternative.
Sign in with Apple is a quicker and
more private method of logging in to
websites and apps, as it doesn’t track
or proĽle you. It uses two–factor
authentication (2FA), which either sends
a random six–digit code to your device

you’re on a recent iOS/iPadOS device. For
improved security, you can choose to
create a randomly generated email ID,
which Apple then shares with the
developer. Any emails sent from the
developer are sent through this address
so they never see your actual Apple ID.
Sign in with Apple is only supported
by a limited number of apps right now

Access Sign in
If an app/website supports Sign
in with Apple, you will see the Apple logo
next to the other login options. Click on
the “Continue With Apple” option. You
will still have to create a password for
the service, but you can do that later.

Sign in with Apple ID
In this first instance, log in with
your Apple ID. Apple will send a six–digit
code to your iPhone, iPad or Mac, or you
can confirm your identity with Touch ID
or Face ID. Thereafter, just use the code
or Touch ID/Face ID (not your Apple ID).

Choose your settings
You can either share your email
with the developer or choose Hide My
Email. If you choose this option, Apple
creates a random mail ID and redirects
all mail from the developer to that ID, so
that your email address remains hidden.
