The Brazilian schemer picked up ive of the 10 nominations for the best goal
of 2015, but it was this sublime strike away at a rain-sodden St Mary’s that got
the nod. It arrived just two minutes and 43 seconds into the contest and was a
wonderful efort from the Reds no10.
Picking the ball up after a pass inield from the left, Coutinho took two
touches before whipping a brilliant efort up and in of the underside of the bar,
generating enough power and direction to leave Saints keeper Fraser Forster
lailing as the ball crashed of the underside of the bar and into the net.
Truly a goal of beauty.
