Jordan Henderson v Chelsea (A)

A Friday-night rocket from the skipper helped
put the Reds in command at Chelsea in a game
they would go on to win 2-1.
When Chelsea centre-back Gary Cahill
failed to clear his lines properly, Henderson
needed just two touches to punish him. His first
stopped the ball’s momentum, letting it sit up
nicely 25 yards out, to the left of the goal.
His second, with his right foot, was majestic.
The ball seemed to be flying over but then
dipped, clearing the despairing dive of
goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.
Manager Jürgen Klopp was soon out of his
seat to celebrate Henderson’s first goal in 25
games. It was well worth the wait.
