“I took the shots for this
composite while snowboarding
in the Sierra-at-Tahoe resort in
California. I’d noticed a busy slope
that was some distance away,
soI attacheda 200mmlensto
mycameraandstartedsnapping.
Ev enat thisfocallength,theskiers
weretiny,makingit difficultto pick
outanynotableshots.Scrolling
throughafterwards,I noticed
a si milareffectto thatcreatedby
EadweardMuybridge’sTheHorse
in Motionimage– theseriesof
a gallopinghorse.At thatmoment,
I kn ewwhatI wantedto achieve.

se quenceswerehardto spot.I cut
out themoredetailedskiers,twisting
an d flippingthemto makethem
lo okliketheywereskiingin different
di rections.Theprocessresultedin
th is beautifullychaoticimage.”
