IT’S N 2 O JOKE
Brighton launched an internal investigation after a video
emerged of four players inhaling from a balloon in Spain.
The clip was recorded during the Seagulls’ winter break -
and first-team players Pascal Gross, Shane Duffy, Leandro
Trossard and Alireza Jahanbakhsh appear to be enjoying
their time off together by inhaling balloons. And while the
contents of the balloons are as of yet unidentified, they have
been known to be used by some people to inhale nitrous
oxide, also referred to as laughing gas.

Manchester United were forced to change their Marbella
hotel during the winter break due to fears over contracting
coronavirus. And the decision was taken because the
club got wind that Rafa Benitez and the Chinese team he
manages, Dalian Yifang, stayed there previously. United
were due to reside at the Westin La Quinta Golf Resort and
Spa in Benahavis, Spain but they relocated to the five-star
beachfront Kempinski in nearby Estepona.
FASHION
DIVAS
Dominic Calvert-
Lewin and Tom Davies
made sure they
turned heads as they
rocked up to New
York Fashion Week.
The Everton duo
dressed to impress
for the Michael Kors
show - but fans were
not convinced by
their bizarre choice of
clothes. Calvert-Lewin
donned some bootcut
brown trousers, a pink
shirt with a comically
large collar, a
patterned blazer and some shades. Davies, on the other hand, proudly wore some
tinted yellow glasses with a dressing gown-style blazer.
ERIC THE ECONOMIST
Eric Dier shunned private jets and first class travel as he headed off on his no-frills
winter break to Marrakesh with easyJet. The down to earth midfielder, 26, took
a £250 budget flight after being given a week's leave with the rest of his Spurs
teammates. Despite earning £60,000-a-week, the Three Lions man picked the
low-cost airline for his flight to Morocco much to the surprise of other passengers.

WHERE AM I
GOING, AGAIN?
RB Leipzig have joked that
reported Liverpool target
Timo Werner will be on
his way to Tottenham this
summer. Tottenham are
one of many clubs believed
to be chasing Werner's
signature, but Liverpool has
been touted as his most
likely next destination by
German publication Bild.
A Twitter account posted
the news to their followers
on Wednesday morning,
which prompted a tongue-
in-cheek response from
Leipzig's social media department. The club issued a short reply regarding Werner's
situation, which reads: "We heard he is heading to Tottenham though..." The prolific
forward signed a contract extension with Leipzig back in August, which ties him to
the club until 2023.
MORE SEATS FOR ANFIELD
Liverpool hope to begin work on their new Anfield Road stand before the end of
- The stand will take Anfield's capacity to 61,000 and could be completed in
time for the 2022-23 season. The proposed new stand would, Liverpool say, provide
5,200 new general admission seats, with a further 1,800 seats covered as part of a
lounge/sports bar-style hospitality feature.
PAISLEY THE
TOWN RED
Standard Chartered have
attempted to recreate
Liverpool legend Bill Paisley's
managerial and personal
accomplishments on celluloid.
Paisley’s achievements with
the Anfield-based club, 20
trophies in a nine-year spell,
can hardly be rivalled home
or away, except by a select
few footballing paragons.
As part of the centenary
commemoration of Paisley’s
birthday, Standard Chartered
Bank launched Project Stand
Red, envisaging a revolutionary
feat to bring the Merseyside
legend into the 21st century, as
well as millions of Liverpool’s
supporters, through a
competent cocktail of cinema
and technology.
