Bathroom
‘The key for me in the bathroom
is storage and this unit from Ikea
is brilliant for all our lotions and
potions. I also added some colour
in here so it doesn’t feel too
functional and clinical.’
The taps and bath are from Victorian Plumbing,
and the washstand is the Godmorgon design from Ikea

What I learned...
l We had a really hard time with our builder
on this project, so if there was one thing
I’ve learned it is to be really thorough when
finding the right person for the job. Check
references, get as many quotes as you can
and be detailed about your brief.
l It’s so important to stick with your
own ideas, even if people are telling
you otherwise. If you have a strong
vision for something I say go for it!
l It’s okay to have one or two indulgences!
We were on a tight budget but I would
have been gutted if we’d cut a hot tap out
of the budget – it gets so much use!
‘I’m always picking up things on my travels. The little
houses are from Ferm Living, and the Every Thing
Will Be Fine print is from Desenio, it’s a phrase that is
used a lot in our house!’
Guest bedroom
‘This is one of the original bedrooms and I love the
fireplace which I painted white to match the walls.
I used a silver paint inside to create a more unusual
detail. My mum and dad live in France so I am
drawn to that shabby chic look, with lots of pale
walls and wooden pieces, hence the decorative
mirror and console. The mirror is a flea market find
and the For Like Ever print is from Super Rural.’
