Left side
The left side was principally airbrushed the same way
as the right side with the difference that “Grimming" moun-
tain was not mirrored in the picture, but rather the image
like the one given to the right side. I also had the Austrian
flag swaying a bit differently due to the mountain etc. In
total, I needed a good two weeks for this project.

The “50“
The 50th anniversary came a good half year later.
Seeing as how I had already pre-sketched the number the
previous year and put varnish on it too when clear var-
nishing the aircraft, all I really had to do was tape things up
and start airbrushing. I originally intended to use the color
white here, which is how I kicked things off in this step. But
at some point, I decided to add in some green and this ul-
timately led to me making the "5" green on the right side
of the helicopter. The digit “0“ was then painted green on
the left side. Cool! This little extra touch created more of a
connection to Styria.

Finished helicopter
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the squa-
dron commander Udo Koller and technical officer Christoph
Rohrer for their support and most of all, for their having
entrusted me with this project! I’d also like to very much
thank all of the participating technicians at the construction
site and the squadron, namely Bernd Hummerlechner, Mi-
chael Griesebner, and Gerald Steiner!
