In the gentle glow of the silvery moon
A moth flaps softly by
On silent wings, the song she sings
Is softer than a sigh....
The moth and the moon
All night she flutters, bobs and dips
And struggles hard to climb
Towards the place that we call ‘Space’,
And yet she fails each time.
The stars are fading, one by one
As moth says to the moon,
“I try each night to touch your light,
But you are gone too soon!”
