White Wagtail
Binomial Name: Motacilla alba
The White Wagtail is a common migratory bird of Bangladesh. In winter, its can be seen inthe hills, riverbanks, mangrove forests, swamps, lakes, agricultural lands and even localities
of all divisions of Bangladesh. They usually walk or run singly, in pairs or in isolated groupsand feed on seeds, insects, ants, dung beetles, tiny snails etc. While wandering on the
ground, it always wags its tail and chirps. Their breeding season is from April to August.During this time, they make nests with dry grass and roots near water in Siberia, under
rocks, grass bushes or cracks in buildings.
