Nose: Empty cigar
boxes, cedar chips
and seasoned logs.
Then sweetens up with
marzipan and icing
sugar. Battenberg cake
and cherry jam. Water
brings more fruit
and tobacco.
Palate: Watermelon
flesh, apples and honey,
cookie dough and Oreo
biscuits. Sweet with
Banoffee pie and some
milk chocolate.
Finish: Hot and spicy,
lots of prickly elements,
water really mellows this
back and brings more
firewood forward.
Comments: It reminds
me of eating syrup
waffles on Bonfire night.
Nose: Some serious
nuttiness going on with
peanut brittle, brioche
buns and Hobnobs
yet it still remains light
and airy. Think Victoria
sponges topped with
orange jelly babies.
Palate: Starts off with
notes of single cream,
basil and dried mango
but soon after some
Nutella and banana
toast with a sprinkling
of cinnamon.
Finish: A pretty blunt
finish yet there is a light
spice lingering for a
teeny bit.
Comments: Honestly...
it’s kind of like a rich
tea biscuit. It’s great but
you doze off after the
4th one.

Nose: All sweetness
with cornflakes and
honey, white chocolate
pennies, white toast and
strawberry jam. Fresh
cut and boiled corn
cobs. Wheat crackers
then barley sugar water,
peach flavoured.
Palate: Huge sweetness
that lasts and clings,
orange oil, lime zest
punches, then spices
rise in the form of chilli
oil. Cherry compote and
fresh meringue.
Finish: Spicy, then
drying with that chilli
seed heat.
Comments: Oh grain,
with this excellence
you should be on
everyone’s agenda.
Nose: Definitely has
that distinctive hot
acetate note straight
off the nose. Cooked
red apples in red wine
vinegar, baked salmon
and candied lemon peel
begin to appear though.
Palate: Surprisingly
creamy – buttered
scones and banana
milkshakes. Sweet
fruits with Irn Bru
and peaches in syrup
followed by gingerbread,
cloves and fennel seeds.
Finish: This grain
surprises you with every
sip as new flavours
just keep creeping up
on you.
Comments: If the Pink
Panther theme tune was
a whisky....

Nose: Really light and
aromatic honey, delicate
flowers in brown paper.
Rolls of Sellotape.
Honey roast chilli. The
alcohol prickle grows.
Palate: Very mellow at
first, lovely and honey
laden. Fresh orange
juice, lemon mousse,
Frangipane – soft
peaches and vanilla.
Then slowly spices grow
with smoky tobacco.
Finish: Punchy and
spicy, eventually dried
on cracked black pepper
and chilli seeds.
Comments: Full
of soft spices, like
eating Frangipane in a
meadow, sweet
and heady.
Nose: Meringues and
cinnamon dusted
dehydrated pineapples
followed by pickled
raspberries, mahogany,
lavender soap and a
new pair of Dr. Martens.
Palate: A mixture of
peaches, raspberries
and apricots in syrup
with sweet liquorice
creating a leathery
texture. Strikingly herbal
with pine trees, lightly
torched rosemary and
hot ginger water.
Finish: Hot ginger
carries straight through
to the end with a light,
oily finish.
Comments: Well hello
whirlwind! Constantly
twisting from light and
juicy to rich and spicy.
