his home in Hingham, Massachusetts.
“Bobar,”ashewas knownto everyone,
was born March 1, 1934in Boston and
grew up in Hyde Park. He graduated
fromHydePark High in 1952and
enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1954.After
his honorable Navaldischarge,Bobar
attended BostonState College, receiving
aBSinEducationinthe spring of 1961.
He then setout on what wouldeventu-
allybecomeaforty-four-year career
in the BrocktonPublic SchoolSystem.
Starting in the Mathematics Depart-
mentin1961 at South JuniorHigh, he
soonbecameaDepartment Head at
the school. While studyingatnight,he
received hisMaster of Education degree
in thesummerof 1965fromBoston
State College.After tenyearsinthe
classroom, he movedacrosstown,and
assumedthe positionofAssistantPrin-
cipal at NorthJunior High.In1991,
he becamePrincipal at Northand re-
mained in that position until his retire-
ment in 2005. Throughout hiscareerin
education,heearnedthe gratitudeand
respectofhis many students and fellow
facultymembers alike. Thelessonsthat
he taught us all about love,faith, kind-
ness,and generositywere muchmore
thanwhatcould be foundinthe pages
of anytextbook. Along withhis cher-
ished wife Madeline,Bobarraisedfour
childrenand then found endless joy
with theblessings of his ninegrandchil-
dren: KeithR.Bartlettand his children
Katherine,SiennaandMia; Suzanne
E. Bartlett (Daniel Fields)and their
childrenDevin andTegan;Roberta

years. Once hisgrandchildrenarrived,
Bobar reveled in theirathletic efforts
as wellastheirmanyothertalents –
he was undeniablytheir greatest fan.
