AvoidfullytighteninganyboltsattachedtotheEGRassemblyuntilthey
haveallbeenfitted.CheckthatthenewpipebetweentheEGRvalveand
throttlebodyisthesameshapeanddimensionsastheoldone
Technicianconnectsdiagnosticequipmenttoclearfaultcodesand
calibratetheEGRforthecorrectflow,beforerunningtheenginetocheck
thatEGR-relatedfaultdoesn’treturn.Thenhewilltopupcoolant
ManoeuvretheEGRassemblyoutthroughthefrontoftheengine.If
itcannotberemoved,checkthatallelectricalplugs,hoses,pipesand
mountingboltshavebeenundoneordetached

PlacetheoldassemblyonabenchalongsidethereplacementEGR
valve.CheckthatthereplacementEGRvalveisidenticaltotheoldone,
especiallyregardinganyelectricalplugconnectorsandmountingpoints

Elite&PerformanceJagsfirstrefitsthetwofront-most 10 mmboltsfor
theexhaustpipeconnectedtotheEGRvalve(undoneinstep 10 ),before
refittingthemountingbolts

ManoeuvretheEGRassemblythroughthefrontoftheengineandinto
position.Thiscanbequiteawkwardtodo,sotakeyourtime,making
surethatnowiresorhosesaretrappedintheprocess

components.Discardthegasketbetween
theseparts–anewoneshouldbefitted

EGRcooler,fittinganewgasket.Refitthefour
5mmAllenkeybolts,hand-tighteningthem
witha^3 / 8 inratchet.Donotovertightenthem
