Withfasteningsundone,manoeuvrethepipeoutfromthenearside.
DisconnectanelectricalplugattachedtotheEGRassemblyontheoffside
beforeremovingthepipefromthisside

TheEGRassemblyissecuredwitheitherfourorfive10mmbolts(Elite&

PerformanceJagshasfoundthenumberofboltscanvary).Locateand

undoalltheboltstoremovetheassembly

DetachtwocoolantpipesconnectedtotheEGRassembly.Somecoolant
willleakout,butcanbereplacedlater.Onepipeisplasticwithaquick-
releasefitting;theotheraspringclipcoveredwithsleeving

Unscrewtheexhaustgastemperaturesensor.Slackenitwitha16mm
open-endedspanner,thenwinditoutbyhandandsuspenditoutofthe
waytoavoiddamagingit

Undothetwo10mmboltsfortheU-shapedexhaustgaspipeatthe

frontoftheengine(thelowermountonly).Thispipecan’tberemoved,

butwillcomeoffwiththeEGRassembly

DetachthesmallvacuumhosethatisattachedtotheEGRcoolervalve

actuator.ThehosewillremainattachedtotheengineaftertheEGR

valvehasbeenremoved

Theoppositeendofthesteelpipeissecuredtothethrottlebodywith

two10mmbolts.Undoboth.Finally,undoasingle 10 mmboltinthe

centre,whichisforamountingbracket

Thesteelpipeacrossthetopoftheengine(nearthebulkhead)mustbe
renewed.Itfeedswastegasesintothethrottlebodyandissecuredat
theEGRwithtwo5mmAllenkeybolts–carefullyundothem
