The delayed arrival ofthismodel
compared with the G410Plusand
G410 SFT drivers hasbeenwell
documented, but withgoodreason



  • Ping didn’t want to launchthenew
    LST until it was measurablybetterthan
    the outgoing G400 version.This
    comes mainly from a three-per-
    cent increase in forgiveness.
    In like-for-like testingwith
    the G410 Plus, club speed
    with the LST version
    was 1.5mph faster,
    perhaps because
    of the smaller size.
    Ball speed only
    increased by 0.5mph,
    though, suggesting the
    transfer of energy wasn’tas
    efficient on slight mishits.
    Both drivers launchedtheballat
    just over 13°, but the LSTflightedthe
    ball two yards lower throughtheair.
    The average carry wasbasicallythe
    same with both drivers,amore-than-
    respectable 275 yards.
    Dispersion seemedalittleharderto
    control with the G410LSTandthiswas
    more noticeable when testing out on
    the course at Woburn GC. While we
    didn’t see big differences in
    performance, that’s not to say this will
    be the case for you as strike and
    delivery plays such a big part.
    The G410 LST provides another
    option for faster swingers or simply
    anyone who would benefit from
    knocking spin off their drives.
    If you’re a slicer, you have the
    option to move the weight
    into the heel for added draw
    bias and if you want to fade
    the ball, you can move the
    weight into the toe or choose a
    flatter lie angle.

The G410 LST
complements the
excellent G410 driver
range,providing another
optionforgolfers who want to
adddistancethrough reducing
spin.It could certainly be one of the
mostforgiving ‘low-spin’ drivers on the
market, but inconsistent strikers would
probably be better off with the extra
helpofthe G410 Plus, which can still
offerlow spin when set up correctly.

Looks
It does have a smaller
profile at address – the
taller face is noticeable – and the
creased hood contributes to a
fast, slick look while hiding
the moveable weight
in a subtle way.
