TheTS4isoneoffourmodelsforming

theTSdriverrange,makingitoneof

themostexpansiveonthemarket.Itis

saidtocomplementtheTS2andTS3

bybeingdesignedforanyonelooking

tosignificantlyreducetheirspin.This

doesn’tnecessarilymeanjusttour

playerswithveryhighswingspeeds.It

couldbeanyonewhohitsdownonthe

ballsignificantly,althoughthesmaller

sizeandmoreforwardCGmakethe

TS4lessforgivingandthusbetter

suitedtoaccomplishedball-strikers.

OurclubspeedwiththeTS4was

actuallyalittlequickerthanwiththe

TS3,possiblybecauseofthemore

streamlined,smallerchassis.Ball

speedswiththeTS4werealsofaster

onaverageasaresult,butslightly less

efficientbecauseofthelower

forgivenessonoffer,meaningcarry

distancescomparedwithTS3were

similar.TheTS4wasproventobethe

lowestspinningoftheTSdrivers,

althoughweonlyexperiencedadrop

ofaround50rpmcomparedwithTS3

in like-for-like loft and shaft. In fact,

overallperformancebetweenTS3and

TS4wasverysimilar.TheTS4alsohas

amuchshorter,quietersoundat

impactthanalltheotherTSmodels,

whichwedefinitelyprefer.

TheTS4couldwellbecomethetour

player’stopchoice.Thetimingofthe

launchisquestionable,asistheneed

foritatretailgiventheversatilityofthe

TS3,butconsistentball-strikersmay

wellenjoylookingdownatthe

deeper-faced head and prefer the

extraworkabilityonoffer.Withsome

extraloft,thespinreductioncould

increasedistanceoncentredhits,

althoughoff-centrestrikesarelikelyto

bemoreadverselyaffectedthanon

TS3.Afittingisamusttoweighupthe

prosandconsofTS4againsttheother

models to see if it is best for your game.
