1. Place a G square over 1 corner of the F square.
   Sew right next to the line on the side that will be
   trimmed off.


2. Trim the excess.


3. Press toward G. Repeat for the 3 remaining corners.
   This center FG unit must measure 21/2 ̋ × 21/2 ̋ when
   complete.

1. Arrange and assemble the FG unit, A units, and

   star and assemble. The block should measure 5 ̋ × 5 ̋
   unfinished.

1. Sew an I and an Ir to the 2 top edges of a Double
   Bear’s Paw block; make 4.
