I
remember,as a child, waitingfor
the postmanwith my brothersand
sister. Along with the daily mail, the
postmanwould delivera loaf of bread.
By the time we got back to the house,
four cornerswould be missingfrom
the loaf. But we laughedall the way.
STEPONE
I did the skylinefirst, then I chose colours
for a watery wash using a four inch brush.
STEPTwO
I did a quick outlinesketch,then a
secondwash. When the work was
dry (a hair dryer helps) I worked
on the sky, addingclouds and sun.
Then I dividedthe canvasinto two
parts (highlightingand shading). I
used a Number4 brush for the sun
and for highlightingthe clouds.
STEPThREE
Addingcolours,I usuallystart with a
waterywash – from highlightsto darks;
then in the same manner, but in reverse.
STEPFOUR
With the sky completed,I began to
shape trees and figures.A Number
