I have heard that it’s
possible to re-arrange
the icons in my Mac’s
menu bar – how?
This is very simple to
do. While in Finder, hold
down the Cmd key and
then click and hold on an
icon in your Mac’s menu
bar. You will then be able
to drag the icon left or
right to reposition it. You
can only arrange the
icons in the right half of
the menu bar otherwise
they will interfere with the
menus on the left.

How do I utilise
‘split view’ to get
two apps sharing the
screen on my iPad?

I have heard that it’s possible to make my HomePod
recognise my voice – how is this done? Jeremy Silk

1

Open Home app
The ability to have HomePod
recognise your voice was
introduced with iOS 13.2, so
update your iPhone via Settings>
General>Software Update and
then launch the Home app.

2

Update your Pod
In the ‘Home’ tab, tap
on the Home icon and select
your name under ‘People’. Tap
‘Software Update’ and ensure
that you have the latest version.
Tap the Home icon>your name.

3

Turn it on
At the top of the profile page
you will see an option called
‘Recognise My Voice’. Move the
slider to turn the feature on and
then go through the quick and
easy setup process.

Drag content
between apps
In split view you can drag
content from app to app.
For example, pick an
image from Photos and
then drag it across into
your Mail app.

Launch app
Open your first app and
then tap the bottom of the
screen to bring up your
Dock. Now press and hold
on an app icon and then
drag it upwards to the side
of the screen and release.
