NICKY ZIMMERMANN
The creative director can’t resist a
holiday on the idyllic Italian island
WHERE TO GO: “Who doesn’t enjoy an Italian
summer? I love Capri for lazy days by the sea,
long lunches and evenings wandering through
the beautiful streets. We opened a Zimmermann
store in the heart of town, on Via Vittorio
Emanuele. It’s a gorgeous pale-pink building
with blue-tile detailing.”
WHERE TO STAY AND EAT: “My favourite
hotel in Capri is Punta Tragara [hoteltragara.com].
It’s perched high on a cliff, overlooking the iconic
Faraglioni rock formations. For restaurants,
I like Il Riccio, where you can watch the sun set
over the sea while you eat fresh seafood, and
also Da Paolino, an authentic Italian restaurant
with tables in a lemon orchard.”
WHAT TO DO: “The perfect day starts with
a walk through town, doing some window-
shopping and admiring the cobblers making
leather sandals. Then, hire a private traditional
gozzo fishing boat at the marina and explore
the island’s beaches and grottoes. Stop by the
La Fontelina beach club—you can swim off the
rocks and get some quiet reading time under the
blue-and-white umbrellas before heading up to
the restaurant for a late lunch of fresh seafood
pasta. Afterwards, return to Punta Tragara for a
glass of rosé as the sun sets over the Faraglioni.”
WHAT TO PACK: “Light summer dresses
along with a good sunhat and a roomy
tote to bring to the beach.”
