In den Handlungen der TV-Seifenopern tauchen
menschliche Fragen auf. Als Spiegel der Gesellschaft
behandeln sie psychologische Themen, Beziehungen
und Verhaltensweisen und bringen oft wichtige
Debatten in die Häuser der Menschen.
Die Geschichte der in Uberaba (MG) geborenen
Endokrinologin und Ärztin beginnt mit der
Teledramaturgie. Kaum hatte das Mädchen ihr Debüt
in der Welt, zeigte Rede Tupi die erste brasilianische
Seifenoper der Geschichte.
Aber nicht als passive Zuschauerin begann das
Mädchen, dieses Genre der Erzählung zu schätzen.
Nach ihrem Abschluss an der Faculdade Federal de
Medicina do Triângulo Mineiro machte sie ihren Master
und Doktor in Endokrinologie an der Universidade de
São Paulo (USP) und wurde Fachärztin für pädiatrische
Endokrinologie. Bei der Erforschung der genetisch
bedingten Unterschiede in der sexuellen Entwicklung
entwickelte der Wissenschaftler eine Faszination für
die Geschichten von Patienten und ihren Familien.
Sie ist ordentliches Mitglied der Academia
Brasileira de Letras („Brasilianischen Akademie der
Wissenschaften“), Professorin an der Faculdade
de Medicina da Universidade de São Paulo
(FMUSP) und Leiterin des Labors für Hormone und
Molekulargenetik LIM/42 am Hospital das Clínicas.
Sie arbeitet als klinische Forscherin auf dem Gebiet
der Entwicklungsendokrinologie und erhielt den
internationalen Preis der Europäischen Gesellschaft
für pädiatrische Endokrinologie (ESPE). Um ein
breites Publikum zu erreichen und das Thema
der Unterschiede in der sexuellen Entwicklung
zu verankern, möchte sie an einer Geschichte
mitarbeiten. Um die Wissenschaft zu verbreiten,

The story of the endocrinologist doctor, born in
Uberaba (MG), begins with that of teledramaturgy. As
soon as she made her debut in the world, Rede Tupi
showed the first Brazilian soap opera in history.
But it was not as a passive spectator that the
girl came to appreciate this kind of narrative. After
graduating from the Faculdade Federal de Medicina
do Triângulo Mineiro, she did her master’s degree
and PhD in Endocrinology at the Universidade de
São Paulo (USP) and became a specialist in Pediatric
Endocrinology. Researching differences in the
genetic origins of sexual development, the scientist
created a fascination for listening to the stories of
patients and their families.
A full member of the Academia Brasileira
de Ciências (“Brazilian Academy of Sciences”),
professor at the Faculdade de Medicina da
Universidade de São Paulo (FMUSP), and head of
the Laboratory of Hormones and Molecular Genetics
LIM/42 at the Hospital das Clínicas, she works as a
clinical investigator in the field of Developmental
Endocrinology and has received the International
Award from the European Society of Pediatric
Endocrinology (ESPE). To reach a wide audience
and naturalize the topic of differences in sexual
development, she aspires to collaborate on a storyline.
To spread the science, she dreams of a soap opera.89
