The organization of the European Universities
Championships dates from 2001 with the very first two
championships being organized in Basketball and Volleyball.
With firstly being organized annually until 2011, and
since 2012 being organized on a biannual basis, the
development of the list of sports on the championships
programme has been astonishing throughout the years.
In 2023, besides the joined Beach Sports, Combat Sports
and Winter Sports championships, we have seen great
competitions in 3x3 Basketball, Badminton, Basketball,
Football, Futsal, Handball, Orienteering, Rowing, Rugby
7s, Table Tennis, Tennis, Volleyball and Water Polo.
