After seven days of spectacular
action, the title of champion
in the men’s competition was
awarded to the University of
Wurzburg from Germany, who
won a thrilling final match
against the Gdansk University
of Technology from Poland, with
a final score of 3–1. Ukraine‘s
Kyiv National University of Trade
and Economics took the bronze
medal with a 5-0 victory over
France’s University of Rouen.

The female athletes from
the University of Bordeaux
successfully defended the title
they gained last year at the
European Universities Games
in Lodz 2022, by defeating the
University of Valencia from Spain

by a score of 4-1 in the women’s

final match. The University

of Coimbra from Portugal

finished third after defeating the

University of Lyon by a score of

7-5.

The Fair Play trophy in the

women’s competition was

awarded to the University of

Bordeaux, while the University of

Jyvaskyla received the Fair Play

trophy in the men’s competition.

Charlotte Ouillon from the

University of Lyon claimed the

women’s Top Scorer award,

while Filippo Vergnano from

Turin Polytechnic won the Top

Scorer award in the men’s

competition.

The Best Goalkeeper award

went to Diana Simoes De

Oliveira from the University of

Coimbra among the women’s

participants, while Julian

Schneider representing the

University of Wurzburg received

the same honour in the men’s

competition.

Viktoria Holovach from the

Dnipro Academy of Continuing

Education claimed the Most

Valuable Player award in the

women’s competition, while the

men’s MVP prize went to Daaniel

Maanas from the Estonian

University of Life Sciences.

The next European Universities

Football Championship will be

held in Camerino, Italy, from

July 20–27, 2025, but not before

the football competition at the

seventh edition of the European

Universities Games, which will

be held in Debrecen–Miskolc,

Hungary in 2024.
