The Woodstock tribute band
“Magic Bus” will make its way onto
the Friendship Park stage this Friday,
Aug. 2 when the six-member group
performs from 5-7:30 p.m. at the
fifth of six Vibe@5 free music events
scheduled for this summer.
David Bauman of Ambassador
David’s Productions LLC – who
along with Kellogg Arena are the
ones responsible for putting on
Vibe@5 in downtown Battle Creek
again this season – had high praise
for “Magic Bus.”
“The ‘Magic Bus’ band is the
Midwest’s premiere Woodstock trib-
ute band. And the band ran a contest
for a free concert, and I won. They
are outstanding,” Bauman said, “and
we would have never been able to
afford them if we hadn’t won the
contest.”
“Magic Bus” follows the group
“Leave Those Kids Alone” on the
Vibe@5 performance list for 2024.
“Leave Those Kids Alone” was
made up of four teenagers from
Windsor, ONT, and they rocked a
large Vibe@5 crowd on a sunny and
comfortably warm Friday early eve-
ning on July 26 at the corner of State
Street and Capital Avenue NE.
“Leave Those Kids Alone” was pre-
ceded on the Vibe@5 stage with Beatles
tribute band “Toppermost” on July 19,
the “Iconix” group from Kalamazoo
on July 12 and “Denise Davis & The
Motor City Sensations” on July 5.
After “Magic Bus” performs this
Friday, this summer’s Vibe@5 series
concluded on Aug. 9 with “Moonshot,”

featuring 50s to today’s hits.
Event-goers to Vibe@5 are remind-
ed to bring chairs or blankets to sit
on, and to dress for the weather.
Spectators may bring their own water
and/or soft drinks as well as food with
them on every concert night. Plus, bev-
erages and food by local vendor Chef
“N” Ultimate Catering & Carry Out
will also be available for a fee at the
site for each event.
Friendship Park is also part of
the Downtown Battle Creek Social
District Area, which means that adult
drink purchases at a downtown bar or
restaurant (poured into special cups)
can be consumed at Friendship Park.
In case of inclement weather on any
particular Friday, Vibe@5 will be
moved indoors to Riverside Golf &
Banquet Center – with the announce-
ment to be made on the Kellogg
Arena Facebook page on affected
Fridays by 4 p.m.
