In fact, everyone is welcome to
attend to collect free baby supplies
(birth to age three), from diapers to
clothes, from baby wipes to shampoo
and more, no questions asked while
supplies last.
“Last year we held our second
Community Baby Show with major
success,” said event chair Beatrice
Orns. “We provided resources and
supplies to over 85 families and part-
nered with many local informational
and strategic resources. We hope to
expand our reach for 2024.”
Orns and her volunteer committee,

comprised of Vedece Barnes, Arieon
James, Genette Williams and Barbara
Travis, have enlisted the help of their
congregation to collect all new items
to give away at the event that also
includes raffle prizes like bicycles, a
playpen, bassinet, tablet and more.
“Right now, we have 5,692 wipes
to give away,” said Orns. “We have
7,670 diapers to give away. So, we
just have a lot of stuff and we have
a lot of help and we have a lot of
people focused on the mission and
vision of the church. Our mission
is saving souls, changing lives, our

vision is teaching, preaching and
reaching souls for Christ and if me
giving you a diaper is a way to help
you navigate your life, then that’s
what we’re supposed to do impact
our community.”
The event, supported by a grant
from the Battle Creek Community
Foundation, will provide a single
back entrance (off Jordan Street)
where people will find “passports” to
be stamped at each table, as well as
two bags to fill with supplies as they
navigate the building.
