Garrison Hills Wesleyan Church
will hold its 34th annual summer
children’s musical, “Fish Tales.”
The musical is written by well-
known composers Kathy Hill and
Melody Mosley Morris.
Performances are 6 p.m. Saturday,
Sept. 7, and 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Sunday, Sept. 8.
“Upbeat songs, exciting choreog-
raphy 16 talented elementary and
middle school students will combine
to create an experience that will be
enjoyed by young and old alike,”
said director Kay Weesner.
The story takes place at the annual
Fish Tales Fishing Tournament, host-
ed by Mr. Gill (Bud Sellen) and his
niece, Gillian (Kaleigh McGrew).
Mr. Gill loves fishing and he loves
telling kids stories from the Bible.
They decide that a fishing contest
would be a great way to get kids to
come fish and hear his fish tales at
the same time.
Gillian’s long-time fishing rival
(Za’nya Einhardt) is the reigning
tournament champ, who plans to win

Garrison Hills Wesleyan kids to stage ‘Fish Tales’

again this year.
Some participants are first-time
fishermen (Jaxon Rose, Henry
Langford) and others have been
developing their fishing skills for
awhile (Spencer Howard, Zachary
Howard).
Weesner said, “Lessons will be
learned as they hear the story of
‘Great Fish for Grateful Folks,’
which tells the story of the early
church; ‘Good Fish for Easter Day,’
which tells the story of the death and
resurrection of Christ; and ‘Many
Fish for Fishers of Men,’ where the
kids are challenged to share what

they have learned with others.”
The cast also includes Aleigha
Elliot, Bianca Howard, Helani
McNutt, Michael Leins, Makenna
Rinaker, Keston Rose, Angelica
Saavedra, Brayden Vrooman, Zoie
Vrooman and Juliana Wentworth.
Admission is free, but the audience
is being invited to bring nonperish-
able food items that will be donated
to the North East Neighborhood Food
Pantry.
Garrison Hills Wesleyan Church is
located at 195 Bradley St. at the cor-
ner of East Avenue North.
