NOTICE OF PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING
AND PUBLIC HEARING ON CONDITIONAL LAND USE REQUEST

TO: THE RESIDENTS AND PROPERTY OWNERS OF THE CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF EMMETT,
CALHOUN COUNTY, MICHIGAN, AND ALL OTHER INTERESTED PERSONS:
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Charter Township of Emmett Planning Commission will hold a
meeting on October 2, 2024, at 5:30 p.m. in the Charter Township of Emmett board meeting room located at 621
Cliff Street, Battle Creek, Michigan that will include the following:


  1. Public hearing on Conditional Land Use Request for Parcel No. 10-029-027-01, Vacant
    Beavers Ridge. The request, if approved, would allow construction of a single-family
    residence to provide temporary housing for children placed in the custody of child
    welfare services while awaiting foster care placement.

  2. Such other and further matters as may properly come before the Planning Commission.


Written comments will be received concerning the above matters by the Charter Township of Em-
mett Planning/Zoning Administrator at 621 Cliff Street Battle Creek, Michigan 49014 by mail or at any time
during regular business hours on regular business days until and including the day of the meeting, and may
further be submitted to the Planning Commission at the meeting.
All interested persons are invited to be present at the aforesaid time and place.
The Charter Township of Emmett will provide necessary reasonable auxiliary aids and services at
the meeting to individuals with disabilities, such as signers for the hearing impaired and audiotapes of printed
materials being considered, upon three days’ advanced notice to the Township. Individuals with disabilities

is available now, including more
than 70 classes offered for personal
enrichment, says spokesperson Eric
Greene.
Interested individuals can view the
schedule online at kellogg.edu/life-
long; those who sign up by Sept. 16

    a trip to Shipshewana in September
    and a trip to explore Detroit architec-
    ture in October.
    The Lifelong Learning Department
    also offers online classes through
    ed2go.
    In-person classes will be held at
    450 North Ave. in Battle Creek; at
    the Fehsenfeld Center campus, locat-
    ed at 2950 W. M-179 in Hastings;
    or at the Grahl Center campus in
    Coldwater.

    description.
