The Battle Creek Symphony
Orchestra will hold the first concert
of the 126th season on Saturday,
Oct. 5.
“Fantastic Beats (and Where to
Find Them),” with guest artists
Jordan Hamilton on cello and Glenn
Getty on theremin, will take place
at 7:30 p.m. at the W.K. Kellog
Auditorium in downtown Battle
Creek.

“Hamilton was listed in the New
York Times as ‘six songs you should
hear now,’” said Susan Balbaugh,
CEO of The Music Center, parent
organization of the symphony. “We
are pleased to have this influential
cello musician on stage with the
symphony again this year.”
Hamilton, who has worked with
The Music Center and the Battle
Creek Symphony on several projects,
has influenced the lives of many stu-
dents throughout the area, according
to Balbaugh.
Getty, who built the theremin he
will be playing in the concert, was
introduced to the odd instrument by
a co-worker at a summer job he held
building pipe organs.

at the Community Music School in

Battle Creek.
