KCC staging action-
packed ‘Treasure Island’
performing an action-packed show
that playwright Ludwig describes as
“a breathtaking yarn of piracy on the
high seas.”
Concord Theatricals, which
licenses the play, summarizes the
plot as follows: “At the center of it
all are Jim Hawkins, a 14-year-old
boy who longs for adventure, and
the infamous Long John Silver, who
is a complex study of good and evil,
perhaps the most famous hero-villain
of all time.”
The play is based on Stevenson’s
classic by the same name, first pub-
lished in 1883.
The performance is intended for
all ages but does contain swashbuck-
ling, intense action and swordplay.
Parental guidance is encouraged for
those under 13, KCC said in a press
release.
