at the Chin court. On Apr.9, they congratulated on the birthday of
Shih-tsung (Chin shih 7:17a).
On Oct.15, 1179, Shih-tsung appointed the Leader of the Guards
of the Left of the Heir-apparent as envoy to congratulate the Hsia
ruler on his birthday (Chin shih 7:18a).
On Jan.29, 1180, the New Year’s Day, Hsia envoys congratulated
at the Chin court. On Mar.28, they congratulated on the birthday of
Shih-tsung (Chin shih 7:18b).
In the 9th month (Sep./Oct.) of 1180, Shih-tsung appointed the
Junior Inspector of the Privy Treasurer as envoy to congratulate the
Hsia ruler on his birthday (Chin shih 7:19a).
On Jan.17, 1181, the New Year’s Day, Hsia envoys congratulated
at the Chin court. Subsequently, a border market between Chin and
Hsia was reopened (Chin shih 8:1a).
On Mar.17, 1181, Hsia envoys to the Chin court congratulated on
the birthday of Shih-tsung (Chin shih 8:1b-2a).
On June 6, 1181, Shih-tsung appointed a Chief Clerk as envoy to
take gifts to Hsia (Chin shih 8:3a).
In the 8th month (Sep./Oct.) of 1181, Shih-tsung appointed a
Gentleman-of-the-Palace of the Ministry of Personnel as envoy to
congratulate the Hsia ruler on his birthday (Chin shih 8:3a).
On Feb.5, 1182, the New Year’s Day, Hsia envoys congratulated
at the Chin court.^50
On Apr. 5, 1182, Hsia envoys to the Chin court congratulated on
the birthday of Shih-tsung (Chin shih 8:3b).
In the 9th month (October) of 1182, Shih-tsung appointed the
Commissioner of the Service Supervising the Imperial Hand-drawn
Carriage as envoy to congratulate the Hsia ruler on his birthday (Chin
shih 8:4a).
On Jan.26, 1183, the New Year’s Day, Hsia envoys congratulated
at the Chin court. On Mar.26, they congratulated on the birthday of
Shih-tsung (Chin shih 8:4b).
