At some time during 1172, Shih-tsung closed two border markets
(Chin shih 134:6a).
On Jan.16, 1173, the New Year’s Day, Hsia envoys congratulated
at the Chin court. On Apr.14, they congratulated on the birthday of
Shih-tsung (Chin shih 7:4a).
On Oct.9, 1173, Shih-tsung appointed an Auxiliary General of
the Guards as envoy to congratulate the Hsia ruler on his birthday
(Chin shih 7:5b).
On Feb.4, 1174, the New Year’s Day, Hsia envoys congratulated
at the Chin court. On Apr.4, they congratulated on the birthday of
Shih-tsung (Chin shih 7:6a).
On Oct.8, 1174, Shih-tsung appointed an Auxiliary General of
the Guards as envoy to congratulate the Hsia ruler on his birthday
(Chin shih 7:7a).
On Jan.25, 1175, the New Year’s Day, Hsia envoys congratulated at
the Chin court. On Mar.24, 1175, they congratulated on the birthday
of Shih-tsung.^48
On Oct.27, 1175,^49 Shih-tsung appointed a Gentleman of Tallies
and Seals as envoy to congratulate the Hsia ruler on his birthday
(Chin shih 7:8a).
On Feb.13, 1176, the New Year’s Day, Hsia envoys congratulated
at the Chin court (Chin shih 7:8b).
The birthday of Shih-tsung in 1176 fell on Apr.11. But because of
a solar eclipse that day, the celebration was postponed until Apr.12,
when the Hsia envoys congratulated (Chin shih 7:9a).
On Oct.15, 1176, Shih-tsung appointed an Auxiliary General of
the Guards as envoy to congratulate the Hsia ruler on his birthday
(Chin shih 7:10a).
On Feb.1, 1177, the New Year’s Day, Hsia envoys congratulated
at the Chin court. On Apr.1, they congratulated on the birthday of
Shih-tsung (Chin shih 7:10b, 11b).
In the 9th month (Sep./Oct.) of 1177, Shih-tsung appointed a Gen-
tleman-of-the-Palace of the Ministry of Arms as envoy to congratulate
the Hsia ruler on his birthday (Chin shih 7:13a).
On Jan.21, 1178, the New Year’s Day, Hsia envoys congratulated
