(^48) Correcting Chi-yüan to Chi-en. He was murdered the same year and received
no posthumous title.
(^49) None of the cyclical characters given by Liao shih 7:5a-5b for the 3rd month
of 969 occurred in that month. That is because 3rd month is an error for 2nd. This
is proved by the entries for Mu-tsung’s death. Liao shih 7:5b has the date of 3rd
month,chi-ssu,which is impossible, whereas 8:1a correctly has 2nd month, chi-ssu
= Mar.12.
