situated in Discursive Psychology, straddling critical discursive and
conversation analytic methods. For the last several years he has been
studying the natural conversations between young adult romantic partners.
He is interested in the ways couples pursue intimacy, connect, and create
affiliation while bantering, telling stories, arguing, and sharing their
desires.
Christopher R. Bell, PhD
Chris Bell is currently a Visiting Assistant Professor of Psychology at
Saint Anselm College. His research considers personal experiences of
change occurring in two broadly defined psychotherapy traditions:
Psychoanalysis/Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and Cognitive-Behavioral
Therapy. He is fascinated by and committed to exploring both the
empirical and the philosophical / ethical dimensions of psychotherapy
practices. He is also interested in the juncture between Critical and
Evolutionary approaches to Psychology. He completed his B.A. in English
Literatures and Cultures from Brown University, and his M.A. and Ph.D.
in Psychology from the University of West Georgia.
Stephanie Amedeo Marquez, PhD
Stephanie Amedeo Marquez received her Ph.D. in Sociology from the
University of New Mexico in 1987. She was awarded a social psychology
post-doctoral research position at the National Institute of Mental Health to
examine Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder for the revision of the 4th edition
of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. Currently,
she is employed in a Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at
Northern New Mexico College, and is a Co-PI studying the psychology of
learning in STEM for the Department of Biology and the Department of
