withtheinitialleg,butthis
cansometimesbeineffective.
Forspeed,rollthewetsuit
downpasttheankleandpull
theneopreneovertheheel.
Fromhere,standonthesuit
and kick your foot away.

Haveyourhelmetattheready
Thehelmetmustbefastenedbeforeyouleavetransition.So
it’simportanttogetit on,doneupandsecuredasquicklyas
possible.Beforetherace,placeit onthehandlebars,withthe
cordsopenedandunlocked.Giveyourselfenoughspaceinthe
helmetsoit fitscomfortablyonyourheadwithouttoomuch
adjustment. This will help avoid any unnecessary time delays.

Fastenyourshoestothebike
Attachingyourbikeshoestoyourbikeis a greatwaytospeed
uptransition.Usethinelasticbandstosecureyourshoestothe
bikesotheycansnapeasilywhenyoubeginpedalling.Also,
ensureyourshoesarefullyopensoyourfeetcanslidein.And
practiseasmuchasyoucan,asgettingonthebike and into your
shoes quickly and safely is quite difficult.

Learntheartofkickingoffyoursuit
Slippingoutofyourwetsuitquicklywith
minimaleffortis crucialtoimprovingyourrace
position.However,thisdisciplinecanoften
proveproblematic.Withfullylubricatedlegs,thewetsuitshould
peeloffwithoutanyissues.Anefficientmethodis topullthesuit
downtowardsthebottomofthelegs,standona section of the
neoprene and kick the other foot out, setting it free.
