It all began in the Cornish town of Penzance
in 1981. The Chadwick family went into
a shop on Adelaide Street to buy some
waterproofs and ended up buying the shop.
From the early days, selling traditional
workwear to the local community, Seasalt
became a family business selling clothing
and accessories, inspired by Cornwall’s
wild and beautiful landscape.
The collections are designed from studios
overlooking Falmouth Bay, by a team of
textile designers, fine artists and illustrators.
Their clothes incorporate hand-crafted
prints, distinctive colour palettes, yarn-dyed
checks and contemporary silhouettes, with
stories inspired by artists’ workwear and
the wild Cornish coast.
Seasalt clothing is known for its enduring
quality and is crafted from natural fabrics
and yarns as much as possible, such as
organic cotton, merino, bamboo and
linen, all in a wide range of fits and lengths
to suit everyone.
