Triglav National Park: Lake Bohinj

Tucked into the southeastern corner of Triglav National
Park, Lake Bohinj is a beautiful expanse of water, fed
by clear mountain streams and with high mountains on
almost all sides. Surrounded by some of Slovenia’s best-
preserved rustic villages, it is ideal for swimming and
kayaking and an excel lent base from which to explore
the region’s hiking trails. In win ter, Mount Vogel, to the
south of the lake, is a popular spot for skiing and
snow boarding, while the frozen lake provides a great
opportunity for ice skating.
