  1. (D) Nitrous oxide is responsible for about 7% of the anthropogenic
greenhouse gases and stays in the atmosphere for about 120 years. The
concentration of nitrous oxide in the atmosphere has increased about 15%
since the Industrial Revolution. The main sources of nitrous oxide are
inorganic fertilizers and industrial processes. Natural sources of nitrous
oxide arise from biological processes within the soil and oceans.
