Geographical description of the FIR(s)
The Cyprus FIR, namely Nicosia FIR as delineated by ICAO.
Nicosia FIR is surrounded by FIRs of 6 States, namely Athinai FIR / Cairo FIR / Tel Aviv FIR/UIR
/ Beirut FIR / Damascus, FIR / Ankara FIR/UIR. Four of these States, Egypt, Israel, Syria and
Lebanon are non-ECAC States.
Purpose
The purpose of this report is to report on the level of services of CyANS as an air navigation
service provider in the areas of ATS and AIS. The report covers the year 2019 and it is produced
in compliance with regulation (EU) 2017-373, part ATM/ANS.OR.D.025 “Reporting
requirements” and makes reference to the Business and Annual Plans covering the said
reporting period.
2. ASSESSMENT OF THE LEVEL OF PERFORMANCE OF SERVICES PROVIDED
2.1 General assessment
The level of performance of the CyANS in two key performance areas was as originally
planned, in another area it was better than planned and in another it was slightly lower than
planned.
