Itisestimatedthatsincethestartofthe

pandemic,a shocking4.5millionpeoplehave

becomecarers– takingthetotalnumberofcarers

intheUKto13.6million.

Thepressuresontheseunpaidhomecarers,

whoarenursingandcaringforseriouslyill

ordisabledlovedones 24 hoursa day,have

becomeintolerablethisyear.Largelybecause

theemergencyCoronavirusActallowed

localauthoritiestoaxetheirdutyofcare

responsibilitiestowardsthedisabledand

theelderly.

Million,aimingtoraise£1mtosupportcarers

andtheirlovedonestoaccessrespitecarebreaks

followinglockdown.
