19 Directional verbs


1 䛧㗳 Qie Yj is putting together a manual for his dog training school. Below is
a list of tricks included in the training session. Translate them into Mandarin
with the appropriate directional verbs/suffix.
Example: Sit (down) → ආс
zuò xià
a. Stand up
b. Go in
c. Come out
d. Lie down
e. Lie down on your stomach
f. Jump over (jump past) it
g. Come here (come towards me)

2 ⧁འའ Wáng tàitai Mrs. Wang is a mom to four toddlers. Today she has taken
them shopping at a furniture store. Oh no! Her children see the furniture store
as a big jungle gym! Help Mrs. Wang get them under control by translating
her sentences into Mandarin, using the correct combination of verb and
directional suffixes.
Example: You can’t stand on that! → уਥԛㄏрৱ
Bù kuyv zhàn shàngqù.
