3 rd EUROPEAN UNIVERSITY TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIP
This 3rd edition of the European University Tennis Champion-
ships was held in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, as a part of the
first EUSA multisport event. For the first time the students
fought for the titles of the European University Champions
on the outside courts as the event was held in the summer
time, from July 2 to 9, 2006. There were 27 university teams
participating from 13 countries, setting a new participation
record. Among 100 players, there were more than 20 players
with ATP/WTA points, which clearly indicates the high level
of the tournament. The title of the champions was for the
first time won by a team from the United Kingdom. It was
the London Metropolitan University who defeated in the fi-
nals the host team from Eindhoven University of Technology.
In women’s tournament the title went to the Moscow State
University of Economics, Statistics and Informatics that won
ETH Zürich in the finals.
