6 th EUROPEAN UNIVERSITY BASKETBALL

CHAMPIONSHIP

12 women and 16 men teams participated at the 6th Euro-

pean University Basketball Championship, which was organ-

ised in the Portuguese city of Guimaraes from July 11 to 16,

2006. The University of Minho and the Portuguese University
      Sports Federation prepared a great event, which started with
      the opening ceremony in the city plaza. In the big sport
      complex “Multiusos” with the highest technical standards,
      the conditions for all players were excellent. They were best
      used by the State Vocational School of Higher Education
      Gorzow Weilkopolski that after two silver medals finally
      reached for gold in women’s tournament and the University
      of Vytatutas Magnus, a newcomer on the EUSA events, who
      won in men’s competition.
