7 th EUROPEAN UNIVERSITIES BASKETBALL
CHAMPIONSHIP

The City of Geneva, Switzerland was the host of the 7th
European Universities Basketball Championship. The event
was organised by the University of Geneva and the Swiss
University Sports Federation and was the first EUSA cham-
pionship organised by then in Switzerland. 16 men and 8
women teams from 15 European countries participated on
the event. In the men’s final the Vytautas Magnus University
from Lithuania won the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki
from Greece 86:82 and thus defended the title of Champi-
ons. In a similar venture in women’s finals, the State Voca-
tional School of Higher Education Gorzow Weilkopolski from
Poland won against their old rival, the University of Ljubljana
from Slovenia 71:62.
