BEACH VOLLEYBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

The 2nd European University Beach Volleyball Championship

took place from June 23 to 26, 2005 in Portorož, Slovenia.

21 men and 18 women university teams from 14 European

countries took part at the championship. The event, which

was organised by the Slovenian University Sports Association

together with the University Sports Association of Primorska,

took place at the main beach courts of this Slovenian most

popular tourist coast city so the tribunes were often full. In

the women’s final, the team from University of J.E. Purkyne

from Usti nad Labem won against the team from the Tech-

nical University Munich 2:0. The students of the University

of Primorska defeated their Slovenian colleagues from the

University of Ljubljana 2:0 in the men’s finals.
