    associated with low levels of both serotonin and norepinephrine. The cause of autism is currently
    unknown. Similarly, the role of various neurotranmitters in Alzheimer’s disease remains debated,
    but one view holds that shortages of acetylcholine are involved. Schizophrenia is associated with
    elevated levels of dopamine.
