Purpose for Listening


Tell students to listen carefully to learn about life in ancient Egypt,
and to fi nd out whether or not their predictions were correct about
ancient Egypt being the same as or different from Mesopotamia.
Also tell them that Egypt has been called “the gift of the Nile,” and
they should listen carefully to learn why.
